Selling this Spring? 6-Month Plan to Get Your House Ready: Month 6

Clean Up Outside

Once the snow melts and the temps rise, it’s time to get outside and do a Spring cleanup.

Yards can be just as appealing and present as many selling points as a house’s interior.

From the front of the house to the back, make sure the outside is looking good:

  • Clear debris, dead plants and leaves
  • Remove any miscellaneous items like yard/garden art, toys, building supplies, or junk
  • Sweep front steps/porch/deck/patio
  • Clear any dirt or cobwebs
  • Remove any winter-seasonal arrangements or last season’s dead annuals
  • Remove pet waste
  • Add new mulch to make beds look tidy and stand out
  • Power wash or spray down siding
  • Wipe down doors and glass
  • Add fresh door mats

When you’ve got everything cleaned up, use what you have to stage outdoor living spaces:

  • Patio sets
  • Outdoor furniture
  • Outdoor rugs
  • Potted plants
  • Hanging plants
  • Lanterns

Buyers this time of year are excited to soak up every drop of warmer weather. Make your yard the one they want, and will pay good money for!
